Our history
A journey into the essence of the “we” A space where the Earth and the collective pulse as one, reminding us that the regeneration of the world begins within each of us.
The Origin and the Vision
Amalurra, which means Mother Earth in Basque, was born out of Irene Goikolea’s impulse to live in harmony with the Earth and, by recognizing and integrating one’s own shadows, wounds, and conditionings, reclaim the freedom to be who we truly are.
From the very beginning, Amalurra has served as a vessel for both personal and collective transformation. Today, this vision continues to grow, expanding into a conscious and regenerative network.
“It is not possible to regenerate the Earth without also regenerating the relationships, emotions, and memories that inhabit every cell of our personal and collective history.”
The Five Dimensions of the Amalurra Project
Since its beginning, Amalurra has been a living laboratory for transformation. Its path has unfolded through five interconnected dimensions — ecological, social, economic, cultural, and spiritual — that together nurture a way of life rooted in the Earth and open to personal and collective evolution.
These dimensions have never existed in isolation, but as a woven fabric where each one strengthens the others. From their integration, a real experience of sustainability, self-discovery, and conscious community has taken shape.
While the model of living together has evolved over time, the spirit behind each dimension continues to inspire and exist as a living legacy.
Amalurra has not only been a place or an intentional community, but a living experience of transformation, where daily life has become a gateway to deeper awareness and connection.

A Project in Motion
Amalurra continues to thrive as a space for hospitality, meeting, and transformation. From the eco-hotel’s welcoming atmosphere to the spiritual and symbolic legacy of its spaces, Amalurra today is a place that inspires those who seek to live in harmony with the Earth and in alignment with their inner truth.
- Amalurra EcoHotel: Hosting groups, retreats, and transformative experiences.
- An open community: Welcoming those who resonate with Amalurra’s values.
- School of Life: From “I” to “We”.
- Symbolic and spiritual legacy: Rooting ourselves in the Earth.

Projects that pulse with life
What was lived in the intentional communities established a new way of inhabiting the world. Today, those seeds continue to grow through multiple initiatives connected by an expanding conscious network.
- Intentional Communities: Bizkaia, Granada, and Catalonia.
- Land Regeneration: Over 4,000 oak trees planted.
- Conscious Hospitality: Construction of the eco-hotel.
- Auzolan/Volunteering: Selfless service for a shared purpose.
- Amalurra Youth Project: The future of the community.
Amalurra Izan Foundation – Weaving a Network from the Pulse of the Earth
Amalurra Izan Foundation was created to safeguard the legacy of the Amalurra project and carry it forward into the future. In this new stage, the notion of community expands beyond shared community life: it unfolds as a network of people, territories, and processes united by a common vision of regeneration, transformation, and care for both the individual and collective soul.
At the heart of this vision is the understanding that true regeneration is not possible without repair. This is why one of its core pillars is the cultivation of a restorative, compassionate ethic, committed to healing what has been wounded — within ourselves, among us, and with the Earth.

A Regenerative Impulse for the World
Inhabiting the world in coherence with the soul, integrating vision, action, and repair.
We seek to live the present moment, remembering what is essential and cultivating wholeness.
And from there, to live in alignment with the pulse of life.
Thank you for coming here.
Perhaps you, too, are carrying a seed.
